What I Value in the Healing Process
Client-centered: I believe that change begins within the person and that each person possesses untapped wisdom. My role is to serve as a guide in the process but you are the expert.
Multiculturalism: I believe that diversity is essential and that all groups races, ethnicities, cultures, ages, genders, sexual orientations, and levels of ability, carry their own unique strengths. We will dive into the unique challenges of identity but we will reframe from pathologizing any group of people.
Humanistic: I believe in the philosophy that affirms our responsibility and birthright to actualize; that compassion and healing is in our nature despite human suffering.
Trauma-informed, Evidence-based: I believe we should be open to all options but take into strong consideration what available evidence and scientific inquiry to provide quality care and do no harm to survivors.
